What is EFT Tapping?
EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a powerful and proven therapeutic approach that blends acupressure and psychological techniques to help you release emotional blockages and reduce stress, anxiety, trauma, and other emotional challenges. It's often referred to as "tapping" because it involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a particular issue or emotional distress.
EFT Tapping is based on the idea that emotional pain and distress are the result of disruptions in the body’s energy system. When we experience emotional stress, anxiety, or trauma, it can cause an imbalance in our body’s energy flow. By gently tapping on certain meridian points on the face and upper body, while focusing on the emotional distress, EFT helps to restore balance to the body’s energy system. This process allows emotional blockages to release and promotes a sense of calm and emotional clarity.
During an EFT session, we focus on the issue at hand, and you will tap on meridian points using your fingertips while speaking or thinking about the negative emotions or thoughts connected to that issue. This simultaneous cognitive focus and physical tapping have been shown to reduce the intensity of the emotional response.
While EFT Tapping is still a relatively new therapeutic modality compared to traditional approaches, research supports its effectiveness in treating a variety of emotional and psychological issues.
